Emotional Balance : Reconnecting to Self....


One of the Buddhist philosophies says "Respond don't React".There have been situations many a time that have triggered an Emotional Imbalance in us,which left us overwhelmed,anxious and helpless.Could it be deadlines,targets to be achieved,over expectations of spouse or people around ,sarcastic remarks or an unsolicited advice ,we all have witnessed an emotional overflow ,Isn't it?Unfortunately,at times injurious to career and relationships and we are left with a "could  it have been so"or " should it had been" statements to ponder on.

Provocations have been many and sometimes indescribable .We ourselves may not be aware what made us react. but  we did, Question here arises "Can we be in command of our feelings ?" Can we be the masters of our moods instead of being slaves to someone else's acts?".Answer is YES. This is not our innate self .We are pure and peaceful souls .The need is to reconnect ourselves with the inner bliss.

EMOTIONAL BALANCE: MEANING


Emotional balance is a state of being aware of one's feelings and negotiating with them in such a way that we  are able to maintain a equilibrium with the fast changing environment.The environment is challenging .One who is aware of his feelings can control his behavior and respond to the stimuli in a meaningful manner without getting triggered.


EMOTIONAL BALANCE

Cultivating Emotional Balance:-

Self Awareness is an important step to emotional balance.If we are not aware of what hurts us or what makes us happy we can never negotiate with our emotions and move towards what we want.Our aim is an equilibrium where we are able to balance the toxicity of negative stimuli with the positivity and understanding we carry in ourselves.

Meditation

Meditation is one of the best ways to connect with self.In simplest sense, Meditation is a 'breathing exercise'.With AWARENESS we concentrate our focus on breathing.It is like:-
Breathe in----->Mind wanders----->relax----bring it back------>breathe out----->breathe in.
EMOTIONAL BALANCE
This is the basic form of Meditation.You may accompany it with an 'OM' sound to manifold it's effects.
No matter what may be the reason behind your emotional turmoil past experiences,present challenges or a chemical change in brain meditation has magical healing effects.Meditation soothes the brain and body so that we experience a state of unison with  soul and spiritual bliss.It ensures a balance between the two hemispheres of brain and steady flow of hormones that are stress relievers.
It further helps you to be Mindful,positive and empathetic.It boosts you with energy and leaves body in tranquility and relaxed.


Live in the Present

Many a times we are present somewhere  but our minds are tangled in the experiences of  past or worries of the future.We need to live in the present.Stop your thoughts the moment you find your mind wandering. It is the biggest energy drainer  and the root cause of emotional upheavals. Bring it back and concentrate in present.Forgive all those who hurt you and with an awareness face the present.Meditation can be a great help to control our emotions and create a path of balanced approach.

Evidence the Moment

There will be situations that challenge your peace of mind and test your patience. Here it is important to change the viewpoint . Become a evidence to the situation rather than the first party.Observe what happened.Be empathetic.Soon you ll calm down. You can take a break ,splash water on face or take a deep breath to detach yourself from the pain.

Practice Gratitude

Fill yourself with Gratitude of what you have rather than wailing about of what you dream of having.Be contented with the things you possess.Be thankful for it.Even thank the people who do small things for you.This single practice will fill you with joy.Smile often .

Think positive


I am unshakable,peace is my true nature.The right things work out for me.Yesterday was good today will be better.These are some thoughts that generate a positive attitude and help us feel relaxed.Further they boost our capacity for new achievements.

Acceptance

The most common cause of Emotional Imbalances is the non acceptance to the people or things around.Acceptance without Expecting is a miraculous way to fight out the anxiety that arises due to actions of others.Make it a habit and see the change.

Get Organised

An unman-aged person is always anxious and hyperactive as he is not ready to accept challenges in person or situations.I generally prepare a to do list every morning,set my priorities and reevaluate the same in the evening.Procrastination needs to be avoided here.

Detachment


Attachment is the sole cause of misery.The more I am attached the more pain I feel.Understand the emotions that bring you pain and divert yourself with an understanding to accept things as they are.Use mindfulness and meditation as a tool to help.Things will soon get easy.
